The Jharkhand Staff Selection Committee (JSCC) has released the Stenographer vacancies for 455 posts on the official website on August 14, 2024. The application links will be available from September 6 to October 5, 2024. The notification 24 & 25/2024 provides comprehensive details about the Stenographer recruitment.
For the JSSC Stenographer Recruitment 2024, the application fee is set at Rs 100 for General, OBC, and EWS candidates, while SC and ST candidates will pay Rs 50.The fee must be paid online.

JSSC Stenographer Recruitment 2024: Vacancy details

There are a total of 455 vacancies, with 182 positions allocated for candidates from the unreserved category.
A total of 118 positions are reserved for ST candidates, 45 for SC candidates, 37 for the extremely backward class, 27 for the backward class, and 45 for the economically weaker section.

JSSC Stenographer Recruitment 2024: Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the stenographer position, candidates must hold a degree in any field and possess stenography skills.
Age Limit: Candidates must be at least 21 years old and no older than 35 years. Age relaxation will be provided for candidates from reserved categories.

JSSC Stenographer Recruitment 2024: Exam Pattern

The exam will last 3 hours and will include questions from four subjects. The breakdown is as follows:

  • Hindi Language Knowledge: 25 questions carrying 75 marks
  • English Language Knowledge: 25 questions carrying 75 marks
  • General Studies: 25 questions carrying 75 marks
  • Reasoning and Mental Ability Test: 25 questions carrying 75 marks

The exam will feature a total of 100 questions. Achieving at least 30% of the marks in the first paper is mandatory. The second paper will include a local language test worth 300 marks, where a minimum of 30% is also required. The final merit list will be compiled based on the combined scores from both papers.
